I’ve decided to go ahead and put the drawings from my sketchbook for my Principles of 2D Animation class into my queue. I wound up using it as warm up for whatever concept work I’d be doing later in the day, doing studies of things like specific animals or clothing on figures or just general figure drawing from stock photos, doing 5 pages per session.
My second day of drawings in my Principles sketchbook. All these that I’m posting are just eyeballed from references pulled up on Google Images, by the way, with the exception of the hands which I just shot with my webcam.
Yep. My hands are kinda long and bony.
For my Principles of 2D Animation class, we need to fill up a sketchbook with 75 pages of ‘life drawing’, which is being defined as drawings of things like figures, animals, etc.
I’m sort of dual tasking and also using it as a means to do studies of animals and things that could apply well to idea generation for my concept art book in my other class. I’ve assigned myself to do 5 pages a day (except on days when I have double classes), which takes a couple of hours at this detail level.
…I was listening to the audiobook for Neil Gaiman’s American Gods while doing this and now whenever I look at specific drawings I can hear and see whatever scene I was listening to at the time of that drawing. Which is always an interesting side effect.
